Step-by-Step Guide to apply for a Seasonal Worker permit.

It is a Residencia Temporal permit granted by the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones to foreigners who enter the country with the purpose of performing specific seasonal jobs for limited, single or interannual periods. 

This residence permit must be requested from abroad through tramites.serviciomigraciones.cl option "Solicitud de Residencias Temporales para Extranjeros fuera de Chile" (Residencia Temporal application for foreigners outside Chile).

You can login with ClaveÚnica or by creating an account from the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones.

1.Once you have logged into your account, you must complete the form with the applicant's information:

- Sex

- Country of birth

- Nationality

2. Then enter your contact information:

- Country and city of current residence.

- Cell phone number and email address.

IMPORTANT: Enter an email that you use regularly, since you will receive the information from the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones by email.

3. In this section, you will have to complete the following information:

- Type of identification document.

- Country that issued the identification document.

- Expiration date of the identification document.

4. In the next step, please indicate the activity to be performed and your educational level.

-Educational level.

- Profession/Occupation.

- Activity to be performed in Chile.

Then click "Siguiente".

5. Complete the following information:

- Type of identification document

- Identification document number

- Country that issued the identification document

Then attach the requested documentation legible, valid and legalized as applicable.

- Copy of the identification document

- Criminal record certificate from your country of origin

IMPORTANT: If you have been residing in a country other than your country of origin for more than 5 years, you must attach a certificate or equivalent document from the competent authority. 

Then click "Siguiente".

6. Select the quality of Residencia Temporal (holder or dependent) to apply for. Then click "Siguiente".

7. Indicate the type of Residencia Temporal to apply for. In this case, you must check “Motivos Economicos” (Economic Reasons) and then "Trabajadores de Temporada” (Seasonal Workers).

8. Upload the following documents:

- Employment contract (Must be signed by the competent Consulate).

- Certificate of Inicio de Actividades, issued by the Internal Revenue Service.

- Document in which the legal representation of the person who subscribes the contract is stated.

Then click "Siguiente".

9. Make sure that the information is correct, and then click on "Siguiente".

10. In this step, you must click "Siguiente" to pay the processing fees, according to the type of benefit requested.

11. Click "Finalizar" to proceed to the payment stage.

IMPORTANT: If your country of nationality has some kind of agreement with Chile, it is possible that your fee payment is free of charge depending on the type of benefit requested. If so, the application form will redirect you to the last page where you will have to complete the process. 

In addition, if you are under 18 years of age, it will redirect you to the last page where you must complete the process.

12. Select the payment method that suits you best.

13. Once the payment has been made, click "Enviar solicitud" (Submit a request).

14. Finally, you will receive a notification in your email indicating that your application has been properly received. You will be contacted via email when the analysis process begins.
