Guide- Application for Pronunciamiento de Nacionalidad

By virtue of the authority established in Article 157 N°9 of Law 21.325, Ley de Migración y Extranjería, the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones may declare, in case of doubt, whether a person is a foreigner or not. For instance, in the case of a person born in Chile, and registered in the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación as "Child of a Transient Foreigner" and has doubts regarding this condition, may file a request for the Servicio Nacional de Migraciones to rule on whether or not they are foreigners.


STEP 1

The application for a Pronunciamiento de Nacionalidad can be completed at tramites.extranjeria.gob.cl Must click on "Iniciar". 


STEP 2

Then CLICK HERE.

The box shown before will be displayed. To complete this procedure you must register first. If you have not registered yet, check the following FORM.

After you have registered, enter your Email and Password and click on "Ingresar".


STEP 3

You must select the procedure to be taken upon completion, in this case "Pronunciamiento de Nacionalidad".


STEP 4

Complete the following form (if you click on registered user your data will appear automatically).

Upload the required documentation, scanned in PDF format (you must click on the green button that says "agregar" to attach more documentation). Then click on "Enviar Solicitud".

Requested documents:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Residence Application
  • Residence Permit
  • Lease/work contract
  • Utility bills
  • Third party affidavit
  • Others


The box shown before will appear where you must confirm the submission by clicking on "Aceptar".


STEP 5

When you accept the request, you will automatically receive an email with the number and date of your request. 


The response will be sent when the request is resolved. Specifically, the certificate or oficio in digital form via email, the documents will have an advanced electronic signature, in pdf format.
