General Documentation


1.    Scanned image of passport or identity card. 

2.    Criminal record certificate from country of origin, apostilled or duly legalized and translated, if applicable (mandatory for those over 18 years of age).

3.    Scanned image of Identity Card on both sides (Mandatory for those over 18).

4.    Estampado Electrónico of Residencia Temporal permit or scanned image of Visa in passport or Título de Residencia. 



Specific Documentation for those in a relationship with a Chilean citizen

If you are the spouse

Marriage Certificate 

It must have the information of the spouses. If the marriage took place in Chile, must include a valid certificate issued by the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación at www.registrocivil.cl using  a ClaveÚnica. If the marriage took place outside of Chile, must include a marriage certificate obtained in the country of origin from the institution that issues this certification. The document must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.


Spouse's birth certificate. Document issued by the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación.


Civil partnership

Certificate of a Civil Union Agreement or document that certifies this condition. If the ceremony took place in Chile, the applicant must include a certificate that certifies the celebration of the Civil Union Agreement, indicating the name of both parties. This document is issued by the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación at www.registrocivil.cl using Clave Única. If the ceremony took place outside of Chile, the applicant must include a certificate that certifies the condition of civil partner and the information of the spouse. This document is obtained in the country of origin through the institution destined to issue this certification and must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile. 


If the applicant is a child 

Birth certificate of the applicant, which must include their personal information and that of their parents. This document is issued by the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación.


If it is the father or mother

Birth certificate of the applicant with their personal information and that of their parents. It must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.




Specific Documentation when in a relationship with a Foreigner with a Residencia Definitiva permit. 


Spouse

Marriage certificate, which must have the information of the spouses. If the marriage took place in Chile,  must include a valid certificate issued by the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación at www.registrocivil.cl using ClaveÚnica. If the marriage took place outside Chile, the applicant must include a certificate obtained in the country of origin from the institution that issues this certification. The document must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.


Birth certificate (IMPORTANT: it is only optional if you are the spouse of a foreigner with Residencia Definitiva).


Civil Partnership

Civil Union Agreement Certificate.


Son/ daughter

Birth certificate (IMPORTANT: it is only optional if you are the spouse of a foreigner with Residencia Definitiva).


Belonging to the applicant's child, must indicate name and RUN of the child and include the name of the parents. This document is obtained in the country of origin from the institution destined to issue this certification. In Chile, it can be done by the Consular Representation from the applicant's country of nationality. It must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.  


Father or Mother 

Birth certificate (IMPORTANT: it is only optional if you are the spouse of a foreigner with Residencia Definitiva).


Birth certificate of the applicant with their personal information and that of their parents. It must be apostilled or duly legalized by the Chilean Consulate in the country of origin and by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile.
