From the moment you download your Residencia Temporal permit, you have 30 days to make an appointment at the Registro Civil e Identificación to obtain an Identity Card.
IMPORTANT: As long as you make an appointment within 30 days, there are no inconveniences. (Keep in mind that the time of the appointment received will be after this deadline).
Below, you will find step-by-step instructions to confirm and request an appointment. That, if you are qualified to obtain an Identity Card.
Go to registrocivil.cl and click "Aquí".
Select the "Primera Cédula" or "Renovar Cédula" option:
- If it is your "Primera Cédula" you must enter your passport or DNI number.
- If it is the renewal of an Identity Card, you will have to select the option "Renovar cédula" and enter your Run number, with the verification digit.
If you are enabled click on "Reserve su hora aquí".
Then you will to see the following information: “Reserva hora cédula o pasaporte”.
In this step, you must select the procedure to be requested. Then click on “Siguiente”.
Subsequently, you will have to select the region, office, date and time. Once you have completed all the items, click on “Siguiente”.
You will find a “Resumen” (summary) with the information entered above. You will also need to enter the verification code to confirm the time. Then press the green "check" button.
Then, you will be informed that your appointment has already been scheduled.
Finally, you will receive an email with the confirmation of the scheduled appointment at the Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación.
